I was reading Fabulously Broke’s post on valid reader complaints and stumbled across an interesting thought: why do people love you when you’re aspirational… but once you become successful they forget you are still inspirational!?
It seems like once FB became successful in an area she (and many others) asipre to, people started to complain about how she’s not struggling anymore, and how she’s bragging. In other situations, people have complained about how the blogger is not giving out enough tips and how their content and blog theme isn’t what it used to be.
People, remember – we are an ever evolving species as a whole. So take off your “envy”-helmet and learn something from the wonderfully inspirational people who’ve become successful. Look at their rise to whatever height they’ve gotten to and then sit down with a pencil and a sheet of paper and draw yourself a map on how to get there. If nothing else, try to live life with the same vivacity that these inspirational people live with, and life will start rearranging itself to make way for you. You could write a little ode to these ultra-inspirational people, and maybe make new, fabulous, wonderful friends in the process!
After reading some of FB’s posts, I definitely want to sit down and figure out how much more I can stow away and still live well; just like when reading iCiNG, I think to myself: am I living my most fabulous life? If not, how do I make that happen?
The point is that when you start looking at everyone around you and dwelling on how they have “better” experiences or life goals, or how they have “more” money or free time than you, get stuck in that mindset. If you’re stuck in that envious mindset, you start to forget all the amazing things you have, all the amazing things you can do… and the amazing experiences you’ve been given.
So today I’m inspired and tomorrow is a new day for noting down things that make you happy – just another way to keep that little green monster at bay.
