Every time I look at something on Style.com about fashion week, I have to remember that the looks designers are putting out are fall/winter 09. I sit there at my desk and try to remember what came out for this season. I really feel like fall collections are some of the best, but they’re not the looks being shipped to stores right now.
We’re coming out of winter, and in the midst of the AMAZING New York Fashion Week that’s happening right now, I’ve provided you a recap of spring trends. I know I needed a little reminder! (All images from Style.com)
I’ve decided to recap some looks from S/S 09 – here are looks to inspire your spring wardrobe, while you’re dreaming about NYFW:

Helmut Lang says: explore organic shapes and fabrics and mix them with architectural detail. Mix sleek staples, like tuxedo jackets, with wispy trousers.

Lanvin says: work in airy shapes in a reserved and smart way. Though the feeling of the season is plain and minimalist, mix gorgeous decoration with simple pieces in a unique way.

Vera Wang suggests: mix artsy soft-focus looks and bold, sharp, simple pieces. Expand with definite shape, color blocking and leggings!

Vivienne Westwood says: Do it yourself! Mix asymmetry, use thriftied pieces – turn that old sheet into a cute day skirt. Westwood’s call is anti-consumerist – what can you thrift, or make new out of your OWN wardrobe?
I’m sold on Vera Wang – I can’t wait to mix wispy skirts with boho chic and simple, sharp jackets. Hopefully this barrage of images will inspire your spring wardrobe. Any favorites from Spring/Summer 09 ready to wear?
