Parasol Party Review

This show was the icing on the cake. It wasn’t the cake, because cake is DEFINITELY too plain a food to describe how gorgeous this show was.

Kim had spent a busy few weeks preparing dresses, and I’d glued together a bunch of feathers, flowers, ribbons and bows to adorn models with.  We decided to go barefoot because it would be hard for models to walk in heels in the grass, so instead, we tied ribbon and flowers around their ankles.

The day of, we headed over to the gorgeous Clise Mansion to set up – Carley and Erin from Northwest Hair Academy came down to do hair, I showed up with an arsenal of hair goodies, adornments and makeup, and Sherissa – a wardrobe stylist and friend of Kim’s – came down to assist backstage with her expertise.  Originally I was going to have to walk in the show, but the day of, I was relieved to discover I wouldn’t have to.

All the girls had their hair done and I applied 7 sets of faux eyelashes and did 7 faces worth of makeup, with Sherissa’s help.  We went with a pale powder and minimal blush, pastel eyes with heavy lashes and coral lips.  We pinned birds and flowers into hair.  I did one up-do, got the girls dressed and styled, and then it was showtime!

Everyone looked amazing.  Need proof??

The event was hosted by Half Past Lavish and that’s *just* what it was – Lavish!  The cupcakes were delicious.  The wines were tasty and there was a gelato cart.  There were massage booths and tables for manicures.  There were a load of vendors, including Lush – which made the entire mansion smell like Lush bath bombs.  The Clise Mansion was a fantastic setting for the show and it’s Marie Antoinette + Flirty Fifties theme.

I took some GORGEOUS shots of the models:

The event was absolutely stunning!  My only complaints were the rush to have our models styled (we had 2 hours for 7+ models) and the giant bug bite I procured on my ankle.

I then spent the entire weekend napping and editing photos – which you can find here: *CLICK!*

hehe – I KNOW! I went in to help with the finishing touches and was like: “I want to wear the yellow, and the green…. and the pink… and the purple…. and the other pink… and the mint…. and the navy and… oh! That’s all the dresses.”
