Thursday’s Love List

Filed in Awesome, Birdie Loves, Bonne Vie Birdie Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ,

It’s been a WHILE since I’ve done one of these love lists.  It’s also my 100th post!! I figured it was a fantastic time to pull out my fancy fountain pen and jot down a quick list of what I currently love.  A lot has happened since the last list!

This Thursday, I love:

  • Creative endeavors – I’ve been taking heaps of photos lately.  Here’s my most recent favorite:

  • Anticipation! Still!  I’m going to the Symphony this weekend on a swanky date with Mister.  I’m sooo looking forward to the London trip, and there’s still concerts/festivals/roadtrips/summer!!!
  • Taking a little break from school – I’m so happy I passed my classes, and now I can spend time reading for fun.  I should have an adventures page up soon where you can check out my book list.
  • Working with amazing people – The current “secret project”, The Demoiselles, is up and running and it’s amazing.  We’ve had a fantastic response so far and we’re quickly trying to pen out some great posts for our readers.
  • Also, knowing amazing people who are doing great things – A friend of mine enrolled in school and she’s taking pastry classes.  How cool does THAT sound!?  I know a girl who is working to help folks get rehabilitative housing – what a great feeling, helping people!  I have a friend who works with children – what an exciting scenario, to be teaching younger generations how to rock at life.  One of my good pals is down in South America volunteering – what an awesome and intense experience!  It seems like I know a lot of amazing people who are doing great things with their lives.  How inspiring!
  • Balcony gardens – Last week I came home from my daily adventures to find 4 pots of tulips sitting on the counter.  One very sweet Mister had been out earlier that day and saw a bunch of beautiful “Tiger” tulips and brought them home.  Apparently, the lady he bought them from was way cute’d-out when he came up and said they were for his girl.  I was delighted, since I’d rather receive live plants than cut flowers.  This is the second spring that Mister’s brought me live bulbs – I’m still waiting for last spring’s daffodils to come up!  I spent part of this last weekend potting herbs, planning plant placements, and rearranging the balcony so each plant gets the best light.
  • Arty parties and dress-up fun – Who doesn’t need more cocktail-party-swank in their lives??  If it’s been a dull week, I definitely don’t need an excuse to call up my pals, invite them over for a swanky dinner, and tell them to dress up.  Bonus points if they bring some sort of delectable dish to the party.  I like to throw on a little jazz and whip up a fondue.
  • DIY projects - Did you see the one about the shoes?  Or the how-to on hot hair??  I’m totally into that!  Would you like to see more excellent how to’s??
  • Great articles from smart girls100 things to do when you’re down, and How to make friends wherever you go.

So that’s my list; what do you think!?  What’s got you movin’ and shakin’ this week?
