What I Wear to Arty Cocktail Parties

I’m always excited to dress up and do fun things, so Saturday night I jumped at the chance to get Mister all dressed up and head down to the Artifakt Signature Gallery art show.  Fine wines, lounge dj’s and good art – Artifakt’s show had it all.

Here’s what I wore to the party:

and the shoes!!!

You may recognize these gorgeous 80%20 patent wedges  – and I’m definitely into them!  Wedges are in!  Wedges are awesome!

So that’s what I wear to arty cocktail parties.  The dress was a little risqué, being strapless and short, but it worked well and looked nice with the grey sweater. Besides a sexy pair of wedges, I recommend a string of pearls to any/every girl.  I made mine myself – I bought the gemstones in bulk at a bead shop and strung them onto jewelery wire.  I spent a lot less than a girl might on pearls, and I have the DIY satisfaction.  If you go to a local bead shop, you’ll be surprised at what they can help you make.  There’s nothing that makes a girl feel quite like she does when wearing pearls.

I’m going to the symphony this weekend to hear Grieg’s piano concerto (the one with the huge flourish in the beginning!) so stay tuned for more “What I Wore to such and such event” posts.  ;)
