Just thought you should know that the Better Business Bureau was currently exposed for giving good ratings to businesses who pay their membership fees, regardless of whether or not they are real. Recent reports have shown that they've given A's to white supremacist groups, fake businesses named after terrorist groups, and any business that offers them money in order to have their grade improved. I would not trust Oohilove based on the BBB rating.

However, when you go on that site, you should know that their advertised "actual price" of an item is not the real retail price. Instead, it's the MSRP, which is significantly higher than the retail price. If you want to know the true cost of an item, do your research. So, to say that those people who spent over the advertised Oohilove "actual price" of an item are in it to win it and not scambots may be inaccurate. If you look through the wins, you can easily see that a few names crop up over and over, and they spend well over the retail price to win. This means 1 of several things: 1) they're gambling addicts who love fashion 2) they're incredibly dumb and have lots of money to burn 3) they're scambots.

I'd be wary of this site.

Wendy - I'm so into that. Just buy from the retailer and you're sure to own the item and the pride in having bought the item yourself.

This is too crazy. Who needs all the analytics and drama! It seems penny-wise pound-foolish to me. I'd rather suck it up and go buy something directly at retail at this point.

I went to the site and watched a bid time down to zero only to be reset for a few seconds when a bid (presumably a snipe) came in at a higher price.

That is absolutely a scam. It looks like they can keep a bid going for as long as they want until they get up to a price they are willing to sell at. That is not a real auction at all. Real auctions end at the time stated.

You totally lucked out Birdie. And thanks for the heads up. Although I had never heard of this place anyway and have been burned badly on eBay so I avoid auctions as a rule.

I am not a gambler, and I am a skeptic..plus I am not into designer brand names when they're so out of my price range and so ubiquitous.

So if someone told me I could score an LV bag for $50, I'd be highly suspicious.

What I don't understand is how these people who are crying foul expected to get a LV bag for $50 without taking SOME risk.

It's like wanting to be out of debt or to lose weight without doing any work for it. It just isn't feasible.

I think you may have gotten very, very lucky! I'm not convinced that there isn't more of a scam going on with some of these sites...I understand the concept and how it works, and I understand that they make their money on the bids, however, the way these actions end is disturbing. I tried a different penny action site for fun, bought like $20 or something in bids, and started going. I swear to God I won two different actions, and both times, out of nowhere, the clock started up again. The action ended, it flashed that I won and the then it started up again. Glitch? Scam? Just the way it works? I don't know, but I steer clear.
